What is Child Centered Play Therapy?
Child-Centered Play Therapy is specialized therapy designed especially for children. Instead of talking through their problems like adults might do in traditional therapy, children use play to express what they are feeling or experiencing inside.
Think of it this way: play is a child’s natural language, and toys are their words. In CCPT, the therapist creates a safe, accepting environment where your child can play freely and be themselves. Over time, this kind of play helps them process big emotions, solve problems, and build confidence.

What Happens During a Session?
The therapist provides a carefully chosen set of toys and materials (like dolls, art supplies, sand trays, or puppets).
This approach helps children feel understood, accepted, and in control — which is especially important for children who may be dealing with anxiety, trauma, behavior challenges, or family changes.
