Shelly Owens is an Associate Independent Clinical Social Worker and is under the supervision of Heather Ramirez, LICSW, RPT, CMHS. Shelly received her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Harding University and her Master of Social Work at The University of Missouri, Kansas City.
Shelly has been married for 22 years, has two teenage children and a rescue dog. She enjoys camping, hiking, backpacking, exercise, baking and spending time with friends and family. Shelly was born and raised in Richland and moved away after high school. She spent 17 years living in several states across the country and returned to the Tri-Cities in 2013.
Shelly has worked with children and teens in various roles throughout her career. In recent years she found Child Centered Play Therapy and is now a dedicated child therapist with a deep passion for this therapeutic approach. She believes in the power of play as a child’s natural language and a vital tool for emotional healing and growth. Shelly is committed to honoring each child’s unique voice. With years of experience working with children facing anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges and life transitions, Shelly brings both warmth and expertise to her sessions. Her approach not only helps children grow emotionally but also empowers families to better understand and support their child’s inner world.
